News is often more than just news. The information we seek can often be more personal, and depending on our background, perspectives, and lifestyles, there are thankfully many papers, sites and magazines available  for people just like you.

If you’re a culture vulture, check out Geurilla Magazine and Apt 613. They are both excellent courses for the arts in Ottawa, as is Ottawa Magazine, which is a general magazine with an arts focus. Dose is a good free daily paper that covers arts and entertainment and Voir is great for the Francophone community.

If you are a specific nationality or religion, then there are a few good local papers that might be of interest. Canada Chinese News and Ottawa Weekend Chinese News are available for Chinese-speaking Ottawans, and Il Postino and L’Ora di Ottawa serve the large Italian community. Muslim Link and the Ottawa Jewish Bulletin offer news affecting their perpective religious communities, while Xtra Ottawa and Type Q features news and human interest stories for the GLBT community.

Seniors should check out Fifty-Five Plus, while students might be interested in Glue. Young parents can pick up Ottawa Family Living or Ottawa Parenting Times, while Ottawa at Home offers home and garden advice and well as food, profile/bios and more. Healthwise Ottawa is great for advice on healthy living and the Ottawa Sportspage will keep you covered on all things sports.
