Finally, an admission when it comes to the Lansdowne Park football stadium: the north side sucks.
In a report released Friday, the city recommends replacing the north-side stands and Civic Centre arena at Lansdowne Park, completing the overhaul of sports assets in a second wave of transformation at the historic municipally owned site.
Only seven years after Lansdowne emerged from a $425-million redevelopment, the city and the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group are talking about “revitalization.”
It was the original south-side stands, of course, that first met their doom when they were deemed condemned, leading to the demolition and rebuild of the seating structure as part of the Lansdowne redevelopment with OSEG.
